The Catholic Church in Nigeria through its hierarchy, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), has remained persistent and consistent in the protection of the integrity of Nigerians as well as ensuring Justice, equity and fairness at sharing the country’s resources.

As the Voice of the Voiceless, the Conference has, through the her communiqués issued at the end of each of its annual biennial plenary meetings, constructively spoken on the state of the nation; and in defense of the majority of Nigerians, so that there can be socio-economic justice, sustenance of the secular nature of the country and freedom of religion; promotion of family and cultural values and equal distribution of the nation’s wealth.

This book which was published in 2009 is a compilation of communiqués issued by the Bishops, from 1963-2015. It however does not contain other policy statement, commentaries, memoranda and press releases; the conference has used to inspire the emergence of a great Nigerian nation, justice, love, peace protection of the dignity of the human person and entrenchment of human rights, societal and communal equality.

The publication is a must companion for all Catholic faithful and indeed all Nigerians, who believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel for the emergence of a Nigerian nation that can be counted among the comity of nations where natural endowments, facilities and opportunities are utilize for the benefit of the majority, especially the poor, the marginalized and the less-privileged.
